Randy Helms
The late Randy Helms coached track & field and cross country for 39 years in the Putnam City district. He guided Putnam City to 3-straight cross country state championships as head coach of the Pirates, winning it all in 1973, 1974 & 1975. He coached many individual state champions and several athletes that went on to become NCAA All-Americans. Randy was inducted into the Oklahoma Track Coaches' Hall of Fame for his service to the sport, which included serving as an official after his coaching days were finished.
