Bob Shirley
Bob Shirley was a 1st Team All-State selection and the City Player of the Year as the leader of the State Champion Pirates as a senior. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but opted to play at the University of Oklahoma and became an All-American for the Sooners. After his collegiate career, he was drafted by the San Diego Padres. He went on to have an 11-year Major League career with the Cardinals, Padres, Reds, Yankees and Royals. He is the last Major League pitcher to have 20 or more starts and 20 or more relief appearances in the same season.
