Steve Neff
The 1974 Oklahoman Super Five Basketball team not only included Steve Neff, he was the player of the year. The Putnam City West star took his basketball talents to the University of Oklahoma, where he teamed with Putnam City Hall of Famer, Alvan Adams. Neff would transfer to Bethany Nazarene (now Southern Nazarene) where the 6’10” rebound machine would be named the National Christian College Athletic Association tournament MVP in 1977 and an All-American in 1978. He was drafted in 1978 by the Golden State Warriors and is one of only three Putnam City District athletes to ever be selected in the NBA draft.
