1994 PC 3200 Meter Relay

1994 was a very impressive year for distance running in Oklahoma.  Norman and Putnam City had quite a rivalry and it came to a head at the state championships.  Ultimately, the Putnam City team of Billy Miller, Daniel Phillips, Ben Pitman and Chris Tripplett won the battle and set the state record in the process with a 7:47.07 time.  This state record stood until 2025.  The Pirate track team was coached by Dorman Griffin.
